Macedon Ranges Photographic Society offers members meetings, competitions, tutorials, workshops, exhibitions, social events and photography outings.

Our meetings are held at Jubilee Hall, 52 Smith Street, Macedon 3440.

Warmer Months
Meetings are held on each of the first two Mondays in the months of February, March, October and November.  Other events occur during these months.
Winter Months
Meetings are held on the first Monday in the months of April, May,June, July, August and September with daytime weekend workshops replacing the second Monday.  Other events occur during these months.

Visitors are welcome to come along and join in the activities. Membership provides access to a range of additional features.

Creative Use of Light Workshop

Creative Use Of Light 2026
Presented by Steve Sheddick; Covers natural light, reflectors, speedlights, and the inverse square law using models at the MRPS clubrooms or nearby locations. Each workshop is capped at four participants per session to allow for hands-on tuition and individual attention. Two experienced models dressed in a retro/rockabilly theme will be present. Each attendee will receive an A4 booklet outlining the subjects covered during the day; Two sessions: Session 1 – Arrival 9:45 am for a 10 am start (concludes by 12 pm) Session 2 – Arrival 1:45 pm for a 2 pm start (concludes by 4 pm) Places limited to 4 per session;  Registrations will be required (refer to emailed instructions); A registration email will be sent to members at 8pm, 27th March 2026.  Be quick!!  Participation will be on a First in First Serve basis; Bring your camera (no tripod required); Cost $60

The exhibition will present unique perspectives from Australia and beyond.

Colleen Mahoney will present aerial imagery and breathtaking aurora captures, with workshops;

Greg McMillan will showcase photographs that celebrate travel and nature, also with workshops;

This event is not run by the MRPS club but is promoted on behalf of two of its members.

Basic Photography Printing Workshop
